I have a 2000 Yamaha PW80 I bought for my son two years ago. it doesnt have a restrictor in its exhaust, so my son crashed it at a good speed, now hes afraid of it. I have gone to my local Yamaha dealer and he wont even tell me anything unless I load it up and bring it in for him to do the job. I will not I would rather buy a different brand than be extorted by him. Can anybody tell me the size and location of this thing? I really want him to ride it without fear of another high speed crash knocking the wind out of him. :( Any help you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Anthony

The quickest easiest and easiest option would be to install a few pot scourers, (metal / copper ones), in the silencer, (the advantage being a lot quieter bike?), ;) however the best option would be to install a few small washers on top of the carb slide between the slide and the top of the carb lid, limiting the amount the carb slide will raise, as well as either the pot scourer routine mentioned above, or a large washer in the exhaust header, (whose inside hole should be approximately a third to half of the outer diameter). :D
