Synthetic gear lube.

I found some full synthetic gear lube at Walmart that is made by Valvoline. it is 80W-90. But says it is for marine use as a gear lubricant. Can I use this stuff in my rearends??

(cool) '87 Chevy 1/2t SWB in the making!

Does it say it complies with all the MFG engineers requirements for automotive use, or did they leave that out? I might be the exact same stuff for cars but a different label to target boaters. I'd call or write Valvoline.
