Just take a flat tip screwdriver and place it at the very bottom of the panel and kinda pry it in there. Dont try to pop it off just get it under there and kinda nudge it along the bottom of the panel and it should come off pretty easy.Worked for me! Hope this helps!

here's how you do it. put the truck is 1st to get the shifter as far down as possible, also lower the tilt. grab the top two corners and pull. You can then work the bottom loose. the radio has a ketch on both side , just press them down and pull it straight out. You'll need a wiring harness to plug into the factory wires and a install kit fill in the gap around the new unit. anywhere you can buy a car stereo will carry both of them.

Simple replacement. I've done it on everything as i worked in a car audio shop. Depending on set up, all you need to do is pull on the dash pace-plate and it will pop out. If you have a cup holder in the dash you should pull it out as it will make it easier. Make sure the wheel tilt is all thew way down. Move shifter as needed to provide clearence. Once the dash is out and you've disconnected the wiring bundles(for cargo light if you've got it, and for headlight/dimmer switch) its all down hill. All you have to do is depress the two tabs on either side of the stock deck and pull out. To install a new deck, you'll need to have the conversion/fit plate, and an antenna adaptor. GM antenna leads are smaller than others. A wiring harness is nice so you just have to plug it in, but you can hard wire it and save about 12 bucks. If you do hardwire it, you can find most wiring codes at www.mobiletoys.com. This will let you know what wires go to which speakers. i think it's easier to just tap wires with a AA battery and listen to where the static comes from. Hope that helps ya. If it hasn;t broken, you haven't had it in the dirt yet.
