Not sure if this will help but anyways...
I have an MSD blaster High Vibration coil, and a bypassed computer ignition on my 87 YJ. My tach didn't work until I ran a wire from the tach side of the coil and spliced it in behind my tach to the original wire. Works fine now. Need any more info just ask.

Will, I have an MSD box and a stock Jeep tach. I had to get a tach adapter from MSD to keep the " run-on" from occuring. Seems as though run-on is when the tach keeps juice to the MSD box and by passes the ignition. When I first installed the tach to the MSD box (silver wire) the tach worked great. Then after trying to turn my jeep off it would not turn off!!! When I reved the engine the tach quit working, then that broke the circut and then I was able to turn off the jeep. I could re-start the jeep the tach would work then rev it up and it would quit again. I got that tach adapter and have not since had a problem. The adapter does buzz. Still can not figure that one out...seeya...
