go outside to the front tires and turn the locks from unlock to locked and then the transfer gear shift just in front of the e-brake and pull it back to 4-high and a round to 4-low if you want it

A few more tips....
It's ok to drive around with your hubs in the "locked" position and still be in 2wd. You may notice a little pull or maybe a little noise, but it will not hurt the transfer case (unless of course, that is a grinding noise or it pulls hard). That way, you'll be ready to just slip it into 4wd when needed. Most manuals will tell you that you can move it into 4wd while driving. (4-wheel high) while that may be so, I personally don't want to risk it. It's best to be stopped or moving under 10 mph when activating 4wd. Be stopped when putting it into 4-low.

definately dont want to shift from 2 high to 4 high when moving unless you are shure you have the hubs locked allready (grinds alot) and that you are not spining the rear tires when you shift I usually let off the throtle just before I pull the lever into 4wd high

theres nothing to risk by putting a zook into 4hi while driving... as long as the hubs are locked, the driveshaft spins in sinc with the tcase, therefore allowing smooth shifting into and out of 4hi while driving... i shift all the time at 30 and 40 miles an hour...

i wonder if this is just because i live in canada... but every sammi i've seen has automatic locking hubs..
my driver does, my parts truck does. a friends does. infact, i've never seen manual hubs on a sammi. (in person anywayz).

which is better? i certainly know which is more convienient!

well, i was wondering, if it would do much damage if you put it in 4wd, and are on the street, every once in a while you hit a cement patch... will this be bad for my train? sometimes the patch is 2or 3 blocks long... if i go in reverse will it help any... thx
