The two aren't the same in any dimesnion. The CJ7 tub is longer, and that year CJ5 has a wider windshield at the top and it doesn't lean back as much. You can look for an older "kaiser" metal hardtop like mine, or you can find a hardtop for a later (post 76) CJ5. Putting a later model (usually fiberglass) hardtop on an earlier CJ requires replacing the early style windshield and frame with a later model one.

AJ's has new fiberglass tops, and can explain how to make one fit on your '75.

The other option is build your own top. I don't have the link off the top of my head, but one guy posted to the board a plywood top and doors he designed. One way to do it would be to build it out of thin (1/4") ply then cover it with fiberglass.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Leve, that is the one I was thinking of!

No, the Top still wouldn't work. You would have to shorten it front to back. The CJ7 is approx 10" longer than the CJ5, and it's all in the tub. However, you could use the windshield and frame and get a later model CJ5 hardtop. Use the top of the CJ7 as trading material, or sell it for $ toward the CJ5 top.
