quick lt 80 quesion

I have removed the oil injection from my lt 80 and want to know what the leanest ratio I can SAFLEY run is, also is it a good idea to run a richer ratio on a brand new topend

Re: quick lt 80 quesion

Unknown the many, the ratio of pre-mix isn't based on mini-brand differences. It's actually based on the specific brand of pre-mix oil that one uses.

If using "off the shelf" general pre-mix oil, mix at 32:1. This is what many people use. If using Amsoil Dominator, use between 45:1 to 50:1. I use Amsoil Dominator at 47:1 and it works great. Excellent luck with this pre-mix oil.

For more details about different brands of oils and their recommended mixtures, surf contents of: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...52910875gMWqxc

Also, don't forget to adjust the carb when using a Pre-Mix. Could be "right on", might need a little adjustment on its C-Clip position, or might even need a Main Jet change. When running 47:1, no jet changes are required. Usually, only minor C-Clip change on its carb needle is required.

For more details on spark plug colors, to test for proper Pre-Mix ratio and air/gas ratios, surf bottom page of: http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Sp...s_catalog.html

Hope this helps...
