\'02 Scrambler 50 - Carb Leaking - Help!

I bought the ATV used and was told no modifications had been done. The tube connected to the bottom of the carb is leaking constantly, even while the ATV is just sitting in my garage. This looks like an overflow tube, but should it always leak? Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Just for information, and to make sure it's not my loading technique, here goes: I basically stand the ATV up on the back wheels to load into the truck. The front tires are on the tailgate, then I pick up the back end and roll it into the truck.

Thank you for all the help and suggestions.

Re: \'02 Scrambler 50 - Carb Leaking - Help!

your float isnt level...
1. disconect carb form motor
2. take bowl off
3. turn it upside down check to see if the bowl is sitting level.
4. adjust with small screw driver( take the small screw driver and put it on the metal piece where the hinge is and bush on the float to bend that metal piece until it is level)
5. put bowl on
6. put the carb back on bike.
what is happening is the flost is not rising up to stop the flow of fuel. Adjust it and you will be fine.
