Kasea 90-Water in the Airbox

How do I stop water from getting into the air box and saturating the air filter on my boy's Kasea 90? My boy's Kasea will run fine and after a while it will start dieing. When I open the filter box, it is evident there is water in it. I can wring the foam air filter and water just pours out. I believe this is because of a poorly designed air intake system. As you know, all it consists of is a rubber hose that extend upwards. I believe as my boy rides and hits the puddles etc, water is being splashed into the hose intake. Being dirty, the box drain hole quickly plugs up, saturates the air filter and it starts dieing. I switch out the air filter with a clean spare one I carry and it runs fine until it gets soaked again. My Honda and friend's Polaris both have the airfilter up under the seat. My friends 2 boys both have Kawasaki 90's and they both have an elaborate air intake/box system that just puts the Kasea system to shame. We are all riding the same terrain, splashing thru the same puddles and none of the before mention ATV's experience water soaked air filters, only my boy's Kasea does. That is why I believe the Kasea system is poorly designed. What do you Kasea 90 owners do to avoid this. I thought about extending the hose further up to say the handlebar location or perhaps putting a goose neck on the end of the hose. Any suggestions? Thanks.
