We just atarted our 7 year old racing hear in Pennsylvania. While the district and state rules will probably be different a good place to start to look for info is from the AMA (www.ama.com). In our area we had to join district 5. Our district has a website with a listing of all race schedules, results & rules. There is alot of info to absorb---we are just learning as we go.
There is nothing like it though. He is having a great time. This is only his third week. The first track we went to gave a trophy to all the kids in his class. He came in 5th out of 10. We practically had to pry the trophy out of his hands. It's time consuming & costs a good bit, but the fun that he has is worth it.
I also live in Washington. My son races in Monroe during the winter Nov-Jan on Saturday nights. I havent heard of any summer racing around here. The group who puts on the Winter racing is www.sd-promotions.com
