Alpha Sports Kolt 90

I bought a new 2001 Kolt 90 and it is not runing as good as I think it should.

The dealer told me the only preformance limiter on it was the throtle limiter.

Is there a restrictor on it? What should I do to remove it?

It seams to start up good but has little or no acceleration after the take off.

I know nothing about the cdi if that might be the problum please describe it and the location of the box.

Thanks:
Clay

Re: Alpha Sports Kolt 90

you'll need to remove the shorting strip on the CDI box. it's a metal strip that connected by two phillips screws, and effectively servers as a rev limiter.

the box is about 2x2" and is black. it is located near the LH wheel under the fender.
