Off-roading in Upstate SC?

I live in the Upstate of South Carolina (Pickens, its so small so dont even waste your time finding it) and I am so bored going to the Horse Pasture off Hwy 11 and the Mustard Grounds. Anyone here have any ideas of new places to go? I would be willing to travel to southwestern NC and Eastern GA if you have any suggestions there. Thanks

Re: Off-roading in Upstate SC?

Don't have to look Pickens up. My in-laws live in Easley and I went to Clemson. Where is this place on Hwy 11? Will be looking for a place to ride in that area as soon as I get my xj and get it moded.

There are some back roads up near Cullowee that are a challenge. Best thing to do is get a N.C. map that shows the forest roads (preferably one with GPS cords), and tackle the roads that turn into dashes. Some can be quite challenging. One that I have heard of but haven't taken personally is the end of Johns Creek off of 107. The locals say it can be challenging for ATVs at times.

Check out Western North Carolina for good trail riding. I know of many places in Jackson County (Sylva, Cullowhee, and WCU) that have excellent trails. Hours of fun waiting to be had. Lots of rocks, some mud, nothing too crazy unless you look for it.

Will be doing a lot of riding in that area. My family owns 17 acres up Johns Creek that looks down on the Cullowee airport. If I find anything good, will post it.

Check out Moses Creek Rd. The end of Caney Fork turns into good wheelin'. Almost every road off of Caney Fork turns into a trail. Lots of loops and trail junctions.

Question I'm new to off-roading need help

Hi. I'm have Chevy Tracker that I slowly converting to offroad one and want to try it out, can anyone suggest some good trails that are both fun and not too hard, as the car is not completely offroad yet. I live in Liberty, SC, between Clemson and Easly. Thanks.
Oh and also interested in legal side of all off-road riding. Can I legally just go on any trail that I will find in the mountains and it doesn't have any signs at the begging of it. Saw fee of them not far from parking lot from which hiking trail for Big Ben waterfall starts.
