what is \"m\"

I have a 1972 Yamaha AT2M. I have called Yamaha asking what the "m" stands for and they dont know. what does the "m" stand for in AT2M?

I recall that there was an electric start version of the AT2 in those years, so the "M" may be for the manual kick start version, Brian G.

The electric start models were AT (1,2,3)E's. I'm pretty sure the 1972 M's were the early MX bikes that were kick start only, but the M could also have been a year code prior to the 1981 international standardization of Vin codes.
