1975 DT 175 Transmission oil ?

Hi!

I just acquired an old DT 175, and would like to change the trani oil, in the Clymer manual it says to use SAE 10W30 SE, is this the correct oil to use ? I do not have the owners manual. I thought a detergent free oil is what is required like straight 30.... usually.

Also if anyone out there has a carb they are willing to part with for this bike (24mm Mikuni) I can sure use it.. or at least the float and float bowl ?

Thanks in advance.
Fred

Best application for the tranny is any modern motorcycle gear/trans lube made for 2-stoke motorcycles. Engine oil will lube it but not protect the gear faces.
