\'78 DT250 carb info

hello everyone. Boy am I glad I found this forum. I was hoping there was something on the web aout older bikes. Anyways on to my question. I am attempting to replace the float valve in my mikuni carb off of a 1978 Yamaha DT250.

The problem is I am replacing it because it lacks one, which makes it hard to find out what the replacement part exactly is. Don't ask how it got lost, I have no idea. I'd rather go aftermarket as Yamaha isn't cheap. So, if anyone can tell me the info I need to replace the float valve I'd be very thankful. Maybe all I need to know what model the carb is to find out (OEM didn't see fit to put the carb model number on the original part). Thanks for any help.

Re: \'78 DT250 carb info

you can get part numbers on yamahas corporate site. if you play around on the site youll find it. not only will it give you the part numbers but it will give you complete breakdown scematics of all the different assemblies. this will help you find any of the aftermarket parts you might be looking for... but i think theyre few and far between for something this old. good luck with it...
