bmx 500cc side by side

bmx side by side overheats when run at ideal speed. Coolant fails to circulate from engine to radiator. Coolant level is fine. Water pump does not seem to pump at idla speed. Once coolant quits circulating at idle speed when rpm is raised coolant will not begin to circulate. The problem seems to indicate that water pump becomes "air locked".

BMX overheating

Hi Mike,Sorry to hear about the heating problem, that is a bummer. I have been trying to find out how big the axle shafts are, and what the radiator is made of--plastic or metal? They advertise lots of standard features that sound good, like the top, windshield, locking diff, winch, radio etc.
How is the engine holding up, other than the overheating?.. I called the guy in Dallas who sells them, and he sure didnt want to tell me that they were made in China, when I already knew the answer!! Some one wrote here that the front hood won't open?
thanks for any info on the bmx if u have time.

Sorry to hear you're having a heating problem. I've had mine for about 4 years now without a heating problem. Yours should be equipped with an electric fan, that works well.

By the way does anybody know of a replacement oil filter that's available. The outfit that sold these vehicles is out of business.
