John Deere trail buck ex650 hand starter

I just bought a 2005 JD trail buck ex650, which is the same as a Bombardier quest. My question is there is a hand recoil starter option for both quads. Has anyone installed one, and if so what kind of job was it. Thanks Dan

Re: John Deere trail buck ex650 hand starter

I just bought a trailbuck 650 ex also and figured a recoil is an important thing to have on an atv too so i went to the bombardier dealer and picked up a recoil cup, bolt and o-ring for it.(from a traxter or quest-cant remember which one)It cost 35 dollars and then i took my recoil off my 98 summit and put it all on my atv.Fit and works well. Most ski-doo recoils will work and i suggest not using the summit one because it goes on alot harder because it doesent just bolt on ,it has a rubber seal and clamp.I will be taking mine off and replacing it with a different one from the wreckers so i can put it back on the summit.Beats the 300 plus dollars the dealer wanted.
