Re: suzuki eiger noises

When was the last time you had your valves adjusted?

Did you do it afte the 200 mile break in period?

If not, do that first!

Re: suzuki eiger noises

Just had the Valves adjusted last month!!!!!!!! I called the dealer, I am still under warranty, the service guy said to add a half quart of oil and see what that does. I think I am going to take it up to them and let them check it out..

Re: suzuki eiger noises

uuummmmm, well you lost me.

The half a quart of oil is great if you are low, however, if it is already full, it sounds like maybe oil pressure is down.

What kind/grade of oil are you using?

Re: suzuki eiger noises

10w30 He recommended adding a little xtra oil because of all of the hills around here. It only happens when I go up a steep grade. The oil pressure is fine, the machine is just a few months old and has not been ran hard. The Eiger is a wet sump style and the oil runs to the back of the crankcase on steep up hill grade and the pump does not pick up as much oil. by adding a little oil, the oil pump should pick up the extra oil.

Well, Suzuki reccommends 20w50.
And I live in steep country and have never heard of such a thing.

Re: suzuki eiger noises

stranger 2, are you aware that the Eiger has been relatively the same machine since it's release in 2002.

And it was over a year ago when the Eiger had bad castings in the cranks and were comlpletely taken care of, free of cost, to the consumer.

The eiger has had a few recalls lately all havi ng to do with the fuel petcock and/or fuel tank. Not the motor.
