Polaris Ranger 4x4 vs Ranger 6x6

I see that the 05 Ranger 4x4 now has 11" of ground clearance and that the 6x6 only has around 6". Does the extra set of wheels offset (obstacles are always in contact with a set of wheels) the difference in clearance? I want to use the vehicle to haul trees, limbs and whatever up a very long and steep wooded hill.I know very little about ATVs and their abilities. I have driven the Rhino several different times, love it, but I need something a little more work orientated. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
