Plow & Winch Question Please Help!!!

I am getting my Grandpa a plow with winch for Christmas. His 4-wheeler is a Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4. The winch I had in mind was the Warn 2500, is that too big/too small. He is going to use the plow for snow/dirt/gravel. I am looking at a Moose Plow and mounts with a Warn winch from Dennis Kirk or the complete Warn setup from www.RCSOffroad.com What size plow should I get? Is it easier to use a smaller plow or with a larger one does the 4wheeler have a path cleared for traction. Which size does he need. Does anyone know the width of the Polaris? Please advise me on which is better or pros and cons of each. Also if anyone has a plow please let me know what you have and how you like it.

Re: Plow & Winch Question Please Help!!!

The Warn A2500 will be a good choice... extra pull for getting that poorlaris out of the mud in the summer .
As for brand of plow.... we sell them all were I work & they are all basicly the same except when it comes down to the price tag.
I have a 48" cycle country, know others with 52" & 60" who wish they hadn't blown the bucks on the longer one, the smaller blades will work dirt/gravel better.
A bit of modification will be needed in order to work dirt/gravel better & keep the blade from flipping forward.
A chunk of heavy steel hooked on(I use hooks so it goes on & off easy) to the blade will greatly help the blade dig in rather than floating on the surface.
A bit of info for ya...if you need/want more PM or e-mail me. Ican send pics & a few more ideas.
