New \"Super Class C\" RV\'s.

A new Chevy Kodiak Chasss is starting to appear in the Class C RV market. This chasis allows for a much larger coach and payload capacity than a standard "Van Chassis". The best part is the accessibility and serviceability of the cab and chassis.

I am about to belly up and order one of these in the spring.

Here is a synopsis of the rigs available today or in development.

Please add your comments and any new info as you see fit.

So far we have:

Gulfstream Endura
http://www.gulfstreamcoach.com/endura/index.htm
* Engines: Gas and Diesel
* Chassis: 19500 GVWR
* Favorite Floorplan: 6340 (two slides)
* Pluses: Hinged TV on full overcab bunk, Wardrobe storage. Single AC.
* Minues: Low end decor, fixtures and finishes. Many QC complaints.
* Local Dealer (Las Vegas, NV): Wheeler's RV (poor reputation)
* Notes: Probably the cheaest make to buy on this chassis. I suspect that the 6340 could be purchased for under $85k with the 8.1 Gas Motor.

Jayco Seneca HD
http://www.jaycorv.com/html/catalog/...php?prod_id=89
* Engines: Diesel
* Chassis: 19500 and 22500 GVWR
* Favorite Floorplan: 35GS (three slides)
* Pluses: Better quality decor. Dual ducted AC. Allison 2000 Trans on 2200lb chassis. Triple slides.
* Minuses: ???
* Local Dealer (Las Vegas, NV): None! Jayco has 4 certified repair shops that can do warranty work if pre-approved.
* Notes: Not enough units out to know about QC. RVDirect.com has these for under $100k with all options. May see a Crewcab model in late 2005.

Four Winds 34R Super C (also Dutchman and Chateau)
No web page yet
* Engines: Gas and Diesel?
* Chassis: ?
* Floorplan: Only one - 34R (New Floorplan)
* Pluses: Too new to know.
* Minuses: Overall height is 12' 6"
* Local Dealer (Las Vegas, NV): Johnny Walker RV (decent reputation)
* Notes: Just introduced at the KY RV Show 12/2/2004. Retail pricing is $105k with Gas and $16k more with Diesel.

BigFoot (unknown model name)
No web page yet.
* Engines: Gas and Diesel?
* Chassis: ?
* Floorplan: Unknown
* Pluses: Too new to know.
* Minuses: Too new to know.
* Local Dealer (Las Vegas, NV): Unknown.
* Pluses: Legendary quality. Great cold weather RV.
* Minuses: Too new to know.
* Notes: Under development now. To be released in late January 2005.

We got the 31' Endura back in Feb. Love it. Tow the jeep on a carhauler behind it and never even notice it's there.

Doc, are you on www.Rv.net?

I am leaning towards the Jayco unit but 'am waiting 'till May to possibly September to see what other manufacturers introduce.

Also, do you have the 8.1 or the diesel.

Re: New \"Super Class C\" RV\'s.

IMO
I'd probably go with a diesel, Has better power in hills and better fuel milage. Also try to get highest GVW for the length of rig you want(Some are pushing max without anything in tow). Local RV show's coming up I'll look into them more then.
