91 k2500 max tire size
Hi In need of a little help. I have a 91 chevy k2500 4x4. I was wondering what the max tire size I can run on it. I currently have 265 75 16 on it now. I put a buddys 285 75 16 on it and they worked fine with just a little rub. I dont care how much trimming I have to do on the truck. I will cut up as much as I need but know that there is a limit on what trimming can do. could you also tell me what size rims would work best with the tire size I can go with. This is not my daily driver it is only used to get my polaris sportsman to the trails so tire wear is not an issue. It is only driven 1000 miles a year. I dont actually offroad the truck but do need it to get the quad to the trails. It is the cheyenne package with the 454, 14 bff, NP 241, getrag 85 mm 4 speed with granny and a 9.25 aam front. I realize my weak point will be the IFS but like I said it just gets me to the trails. Also any idea on brands of tires. I do pull a trailer with my 700 pound quad on it so they have to be somewhat streetable but as aggresive as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

285s on stock rims.

305s will rub worse as it is not the diameter but the width that gets chevrolets.

If you're offroad, I wouldn't stuff a wheel well. You'll have no room for suspension flex before your cram your tread into metal. That'd annoy me real quick.
