Is zip tiing fender flares on cutting a corrner or not? I figure it helps distribute the load on the flare and a zip tie is a lot easier on a tire then a self driller. Sheet metal screws always like to pull through flares even with washers. So yeh or neh on the zip ties?

I would say no on the zip ties. I use pop rivets to hold mine on and have not had a problem yet. Its quick, easy and its really solid once they are on.

So what is the right way? Pop rivits seem like they will rip out real easy and getting the rivit gun i have in there will be a pain and even more of a pain to drill out. Right now the flares are on with zip ties but i'm willing to try something else.

I've been working like crazy the past couple days on the jeep trying to do the lift and what not right. What is the proper way to put flares on so they don't get ripped off. I allready have drilled 3/16 holes. I dont' think rivits would work since tj flares have oval holes in them. The factory mounting systems for flares and i don't get along and usually end up comming off with the grinder since the heads are about 1/16" long and always get stripped or caked with mud so you can't get them out.

Factory......they are sheet metal screws with square plastic nuts. They work fine for me and don't vibrate off. Regular self drillers work good too if you take precautions for rust. You can also get nylon bolts and nuts at the hardware store. Those work good because they won't rust up with age or cut your tires if they hit them.

Ditto what DirtDog said about the stock screws and square plastic nuts. They work fine for me too. I "think" you can get them from Krage (jeepdoc.com).

I like the nylon nut and bolt idea. I'll have to head to the hardware store when ever some $$ happens to walk my way.
