made of polycarbonate? I wonder what a big rock would do to it? Heat? - or a combination. They said it is stronger than steel and aluminum though

Although it looks cool when new with nice clean oil, my guess is it would just be black in a short period of time! 90 wt. oil sticks pretty well to everything.

If it stayed clear, I think it might look pretty cool if you added some green neon lights INSIDE the diff. Okay, maybe blue.

I wouldn't mind having that underneath an easy removeable steel protector. You could just remove it and look for water after a stream crossing or mud after mudbogging.

One of the 4 wheel mags did a test on about 6 or 8 of the different covers a couple of months ago. Had that one, a Molten Image(The moulded face thing), and several others. Dropped rocks on 'em, ran a tracked payloader over 'em, tried to puncture them with the bucket teeth, etc.. The clear cover came out in the middle of the test! It did flex, but popped back out! (Good thing there is a ring gear to keep it from getting pushed too far!) It was stronger than the thin stock one and the chrome one, but the overall winner was the Molten Image guy! They couldn't destroy the thing. Go figure...
