Wild, From the time I bought it to last weekend was about six months.
It just sat there idle for four of those.
So, basically it took about two months of laboring every day after I got through with classes and labs.
Also, my dad and I worked on it on the weekends too.
I did most of it myself, but he helped me with the brakes (new metal and rubber lines, new cylinders, and new shoes.)
He also helped out with the funding of this project.
I would not have been able to pay for all of it as quickly as it happened and fell together.
Luckily it only had a couple bad rusty spots, so some minor body work was done and one small crack in the frame was detected, welded, braced, and welded some more.
No more frame troubles and it is as rigid as a rock.
Next year I plan on the new springs and I will think about some other things such as new shackles and other such running equipment.
I love driving around town in it.
Everybody looks at you for one of two reasons.
1. They know that a lot of work has been put into it and they envy you because they know you did the work yourself and they want one.
2. They know it is a jeep, but they just don't know how old it is and the person is a chick she wants to hook up with you.
Anyway, I like the attention I get when driving it around the town.
For some reason I don't get that kind of attention in my Nissan???
What ever could it be.
Also, the Nissan in question is my daily driver and the reason it is parked so close is we were living in a duplex at the time while the house was being built and If you have ever lived in a duplex, you know that the quarters are quite confined as well as the parking situation.
This helped deter those awful thives too, as well as the chain around the fence post.
Anyway, I will stop my ranting and let ya'll go now.
Take care.
