I have had the same thoughts for a long time and finally found one a trailquest. Here's the link:

Scroll down to the front skid plate. I ordered the steel one last week, so I'm expecting it this week along with my winch and new bumper--I figured as long as the front end is going to be taken apart I'll install everything at once. It looks like a pretty solid product. I've always wondered why I never see any Jeeps with front end skids--is there a reason not to have one? As far as protecting the D30, check out http://www.fourxdoctor.com/body.html and scroll down to the cover guards. If you don't like these, check out http://www.turbocity.com/JeepGliderNewProducts.htm Also, if you are looking for a very high quality under body skid plate go to www.skid-row.com. Their "Tellico Tough" skid plate is bomber. Since I don't run a lift and have 30" tires I rely on all the protection I can get(scrrrraaaaaaape...). The next step for me is the Tomken gas tank skid. Hope this helps.
