I removed my YJ dash panel to fix some of the bulbs last night, and while it was off I thought again about replacing the funky plastic dash with a flat metal dash something like the CJs. I have contemplated this custom dash before, my question is on the fuel gauge. Can I use an aftermarket fuel gauge for a Chrysler as a replacement? If not what are the resistance values of a YJ sending unit? I hate the YJ dash so Im going down to Summit Racing to price thier gauges and then a marine hardware to price some bezzels. I already have a piece of brushed alluminum that I could use for the dash. Any gauge info or dash suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

If at first you dont succeed, your replacement will try and try again.

my book says that a 87 to 90 (also my Chiltons was printed in 90), YJ fuel guage sender is:
0 ohms = empty
44 ohms = 1/2 full
88 ohms = full
so any aftermarket guage that goes from 0 to 88 ohms will work, i think the other kind is something like 40 to 240 ohms.
this is a picture of the the guages is put in my YJ dash, some day i might have a flat CJ style dash also.
