YJ a/c conpressor brackets fit my cj7

hello, just picked up an a/c unit form an 83 cj7 for my 79 cj7, having probs finding a compressor and the brackets to fit my cj7, a guy online told me that he has the brackets and compressor off a 258 in his 87 yj , will they fit on the 258 in my cj7?

Look in the salvage yards. Here in the armpit of Fl we are able to get yorks off AMC's all the time . Have one sitting in my shed now with brackets. We buy them to on-board air systems. Not many people want the AMC's so you should not have any problems getting the brackets needed. Let me know if you cann't find one and I will check here. The last time I went I believe there were two available.

It sounds like you want to actually have air conditioning in your CJ. I would think that the brackets and compressor from any Wrangler with the 4.2L engine would fit. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a working setup. Be sure to check the clutch on whatever compressor you get.
