I have been having a problem with ’92 Laredo 4.0 auto for about the last three months. It will do it once or twice and then not again for a few weeks. It will run along fine and just shut down for a second then jerk and start up and go again. It just like I turned the key off and on again. It has about 89,000 miles and the service light has been on for a few years (about 83,000) but that is just a reminder about the O2 sensor and it runs good except for that.
Any ideas? CPS? TPS?
Thanks
John

Sounds like a bad electrical connection. There are probably a dozen different things that could kill the engine if they were failing. Intermittant problems are very difficult to troubleshoot. I would run the engine and just start jiggling wiring until you get a reaction. Good luck.

Did you try to search for CPS problems yet? Either that or your fuel pump relay is always a possibility. I'm also assuming that you checked the codes that were thrown when the SES light came on.

Do the search, there is a good chance its been talked of before.
