I've been looking into buying a cheap quad to strip down and build up to play with in the desert. I found a clean '91 Blaster for $1000. I know there is a pretty decent aftermarket for Blasters, but am I too big to ride one? Im 5'10" 150lbs. The bike is in AZ so I would need to drive out from Cali to get it. I am planning on going to a yamaha dealer to kind of get a feel for how a blaster fits me before I make any final deals with the seller. My friend tells me that blasters are kids ATVs and That Im too big and old (20) to ride one. I would probably put a +2 swing arm a +2 axle and +2/+1foward a arms up front. This would almost make the blaster as big as a warrior. Should I buy a blaster????
Thanks
Patrick

I have two of them , I LOVE the little things , they are light , peppie and just a BLAST to ride , If you do all the mods you are talking about you will have a really stable little ride, there is also a 240 big bore kit you can put on them that makes them a hot rod, they will keep up with a stock Banshee( with the mods ) GO FOR IT

Ride hard, Lifes short

i love the little blasters...they are awesome. like raptor_rider said with those mods you will keep up with the bigger quads. i am 6' tall and weight 215 lbs...and i used to have a blaster. i didnt get rid of it because i wanted to, just because one of my riding buddies was aggravating the crap out of me wanting it and he is a bigger boy than i am. you wont go wrong with a blaster, i promise.

the only problem with a blaster is if you make the mods you are talkin about the ergomics is still made for a smaller person but they are a great bike you will get use to the feel of the bike after awhile so i say go for it

may my zilla live forever
