I found some Autolite wires (P/N 86168) that looked like the connections were right. These wires are 8.5mm wrapped silicone for about 20 bucks ; is that what I want? The coil wire was 9". Would the TFI coil be okay mounted on the engine block. The motorcraft wires (WR-4050) are 50 bucks and I can only find them at a dealer (grab your ankles). I also found a one piece cap that had the high output terminals and it looked like it would fit my distributor. Do I need to stick with the two piece.

I assume you got the correct ones.
If they fit a 460 CID ford truck engine, they will do.
I order the 45 degree boots in the MSD blue wires for a 460 ford engine. Around $50.
I like the 'U make em' ones...

If you aren't going to use a CDI module, the good wires from Autolite or the discount stores should work.
I like the spiral core wires MUCH more than the other...
