My 84 cj7 only lets me use the wipers when its not raining out... no, not really. The wipers work sometimes but doesn't work when I really need them...Like last weekend out in the woods. .( i still went..lol)

For me to check the motor I will have to lower the windshield and take the dash pad off. Is there a easy way to figure out where the problem is with doing that?

Thanks.

Give it a good ground and see if that fixes the problem. This is what caused my intermittant problems. You should be able to get a wire to bare metal somewhere on there without removing everything.

It could also be a bad circuit breaker. My '83 had a breaker in the fuse box and it went bad...it would heat up from use and then stop functioning. I yanked it and replaced it with a fuse until I got another breaker.

I'm sure it's probably not this simple, but have you checked the fuse? The same exact thing happened to my '86, and it just turned out to be that the fuse had come loose. Every other bump in the road would either jounce it back in or out of place.

you don't need to remove the pad. Just lower the windshield. The pad is boled to the dash not the windshield frame.

call me stupid, but I have looked for the fuse and didn't see anything for the wipers. Whats it labeled as?

An example.. The fuse called Ign.Lghts. kept blowing as soon as I would start the jeep and it would kill the motor!!! It took me all day to figure out that it was a sensor that is on the pcv valve hose. the wires were shorting out. IGN.LGHTS?
