I pulled off my axles for my spring over last night and found a "cap" welded to the front axle between the axle tube and the u-bolts. No one ever mentioned this thingy when telling me how to do it, so I removed them. So, did I do the right thing?

Thanks,
Troy

Was the "cap" welded on the top or the bottom? No matter, you should get rid of the sammy to the first person that gives you a response to your question since that cap is a sign of bad luck. Its a bad omen. And oh yeah, I invented the compact makeup thingy if my girlfriend asks. Love that website, hope to see it grow soon. Lots of potential. Their are four of us doing Spoa's on our rigs not this coming weekend but the next (first week of august) so let us know how yours goes. Love the pictures and video too, but edit that damn swearing out. My regards, Max

i have found the "caps" on a few sammi front axles they
look like bump stop caps like on rear axles. i grind them
ol welds off prior to doing spoa cause they would be in the
way of the spring perches. never had any problems after.
