Just a guess, but I would have to say you probably have a bad shock absorber. Unlike leafsprings coil springs do not self dampen very well. When the spring is set in motion by the bump the combination of rotating mass (tire and wheel) and the poorly damping spring could lead to the condition you describe. I would also have the balance on the tires checked.
