I'm currently running a kick power steering conversion. The belt is nearly brand new, the pulleys line up, I get the belt on nice and tight, but yet the belt continues to come off. I made it through wheelin yesterday, but when I got home and pulled the zuk off the trail. I gave some gas to get it on down the road and...bang...the belt popped off again and I lost my steering... Not sure what else to look for or whats causing it.

Double check the alignment, check for a cracked/flexing pump mount. and make sure the tension actually
meets proper tensioning requirements. 3/4" flex on the belt up and down total on a longer run.

If all of that is good, inspect the pully very closely. one of the belt surfaces may be worn out. also make
sure the belt (I'm assuming a V belt here) is the right size.

Are you using a name brand belt, and for V belts try a toothed belt they tend to grip better.

Which kit,if any, are you using to mount the PS? I have the Calmini with the double one piece pulley. If the pulleys are aligned make sure there is no wobble in either. It is a serpentine not v-belt correct? Jim
