Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

Yep, I'm a Michiganian too!/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif Gotta love being from the "state that looks like a hand with a thingy over it", as it was once described to me./wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif I'm from Middleville, a tiny town about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids on M-37. Currently I am in San Diego, CA with the Marines, but either the end of September or the first week of October I will be back in Michigan after I get out. Not certain exactly where I am going to end up, but I think it will be somewhere around Battle Creek and Kalamazoo because I want to go to Western Michigan's Aviation school./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Sometime in the future we should all get together and go play somewhere. I've got a couple of non-computer gifted friends from home who go wheeling all the time.

Oh yeah, Jeff427 is from Michigan, Gladwin he told me./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

Definately want to go wheeling with as many of you guys as I can. Probably have to wait later than mid October though. Gonna be busy getting a job, apartment, getting ready for the fiance, catching up with family and friends, etc etc etc.

jbs, man, I get cold when it hit's the 60's./wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif Been in SoCal to long./wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif

Yeah, I know. Throw on the electric blanket and about 3 more regular blankets, and snuggle up some more to her./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif I want to go to one of the big Truck Shows, like down in Indiana next year. Looks like lots of fun./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

So are you getting the Blazer? I'll probably end up with something similar for my second truck. Either a Blazer or a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup. I figure if it has rusty fenders I'll just swazall the rust off and put on Cut Out Flares. Rusty rockers? Fits some rock guards. My main thing is floorboards. I hate having to replace floorboards. Hoping to find something with a sound frame, sound running gear and drivetrain, and floorboards. The rest can be worked around.

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

Jeff, that thing looks sweet. Just out of curiousity, what are the details on it? Wish I had been home with the money to get it, and one step ahead of you./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif Just kidding, good buy man.

I think we really should do something about a Michigan Internet 'Wheelers Club or something. I'd love to meet you all and see all the big and small places to wheel in Michigan. Sometimes it's not the Mounds, Silver Lake, and all the other main line, big places to go offroading that are the best, it's the little trail over behind Bob's house, etc./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif That's why I miss home so much, nothing here in SoCal like that./wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

I also think those of us who will be down in the South Western part of the state should start a club. The only one I can find is some club up in Muskegon. A bit of a drive from Battle Creek-Kalamazoo, so it wouldn't be realistic for me. u4ia4 or anyone else thinking about this?

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

Jeff, Blazer sounds great man./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif Good choice.

u4ia4, that's like a pilgrimage for my buddies in Middleville./wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif Sounds good to me. I want an inside mount sticker for this truck though. The next truck, the official beater/thrasher/play toy, will have all the stickers my good taste doesn't cover this Blazer in./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

jbs, "the other Jeff", tell me more about this 4x4 S10. Year, mods, etc.

I just thought of something. We could call the club "Michigan Online Offroaders". Then our nickname would be MOO./wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif I can see it now:

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

jbs, or should I say, "The Other Jeff", I get this stuff from inside my head. You'd be surprised what I have zinging around in there./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif Shut up guys!........trying to type...shut up!......../wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif

S10 sounds good. I'd go for the old Blazer, but I bet the S10 drives nicer, gets better gas mileage, and is in overall better shape./wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif I'm seriously thinking about keeping my Blazer IFS so when I break my trail toy we have one truck that is always reliable./wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Who\'s From MI and what city?

Bummer on the S10 man. At least the Blazer is still available. Make sure the frame is good though, since it is/was a plow truck and all. Know the feeling on the money. All these ideas, all these wants, no money! I'm starting to think about leaving the Blazer the way it is so it can be Tania's driver and our trip machine, with eventually a 6" BDS IFS lift and some 35's. Get myself a 3/4 or 1 ton solid axle pickup and have fun with that. Big tires, lift, etc./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif Have to see. Maybe I can do both and then one day do the solid swap on the Blazer./wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif
