looks like future jeeps might not be as american, again. i was looking up to see if there were any reports out of SEMA, and found this. . .

TOLEDO -- Part of the city's history could be leaving for another country. The News Channel has learned DaimlerChrysler may take away the Jeep Wrangler. TOLEDO -- Part of the city's history could be leaving for another country. The News Channel has learned DaimlerChrysler may take away the Jeep Wrangler.

Jeep workers received an internal memo, in it the local union admits that DCX is trying to drive the Wrangler out of town. In the letter from UAW Local 12 the union says "while rumors of the Wrangler leaving Toledo for outside the United States continue to circulate, we remain committeed to negotiating that it remains here at the home of the Jeep." It also when on to read "We (UAW LOcal 12) will not trade the Wrangler for any amount of money".

The contract for Jeep workers expired back on September 14th. Since then, local union leaders have been negotiating with DaimlerChrylser. The union admits the Wrangler issue is a sticking point with both sides engaged in a tug of war.

Jeep union chairman Nick Vuich about the letter to workers. When asked if it's possible the Wrangler could be pulled out of town he said "Sure it is, that's our number one issue."

UAW Local 12 has asked the international board of the United Auto Workers to step in and help them save the Wrangler.

Leve, that's a GREAT website! I wish more people believed in buying American products over foreign, even if it does cost a few dollars extra. And I wish more companies would make their products in America too, even if it costs more. You see everyone with American flag stickers on their cars, trying to show that they are behind USA, but don't really do anything beyond that. It would be good if everyone cared enough to put their money back into their country.

I always buy American. but, it gets harder all the time. I keep getting this feeling that 99% of the profit will go to some CEO's slush fund.

of coarse they will redistribute the money at the local strip club.

IF IT IS NOT BOLTED DOWN, STEEL IT.
