I am putting a rebuilt 351 windsor from a 79 thunderbird into my 81 bronco. It will replace another 351 windsor that we think is an 85. I am new to this kind of thing but the only remaining question I have is which Torque converter should I use? The one from the old engine or the one from the old engine or the one that is with the new one.
I am not changing transmissions,
Anything else I should know?

Thanks alot
Leaky

If both are used keep the one that is with the tranny you are going to use. IMHO though you might consider getting a new torque converter. Hope this helps and Good Luck,

Like Pilotrick said..... leave the one that you were using in the tranny be unless you are willing to get the other one flushed (and in that case just get a reman). Don't want to mix the "blood" of one tranny with that of another.
