Well, my friend rides a 91 LT500. I had a banshee. We raced often. He would always get the holeshot on me. Those things have serious torque for a 2 stroke. ALOT of bottom end. Unless they are piped though (his wasn't) they don't have much top end. I don't know where that guy came up with 85+ on the top end, but they won't do that. With mods, maybe. But stock for stock, the race at the end is pretty even. The LT falls on it's face on the top though. To tell you the truth, I liked his bike's power better. You could almost lug at the bottom of a dune and roll on the gas and the thing just motors up anything. With the banshee your feathering the clutch trying to keep the rev's up...alot more work. The LT is huge though...you feel like your on a DS or something...definately a bike for the bigger guys out there. Oh and for the things falling apart, the older ones had head cracking problems and the water pump spinner(I don't know what you call it) would fail. My buddy would take spares to the dunes with him...they are pretty much junk. The newer ones like 90+ were better, but still had problems with the crank.
