I have a 97 TJ and I don't know which axle I have 35 or 44.(I know probably 35) Anyway the tag is broken off on the diff cover, so how can I tell which one it is? Thanks for the help.

the 35 has a very rounded / oval cover, the 44 has a more angualar cover, with the thickest side offset from the center, I believe it should be towards the left... but if its circular, its the 35, otherwise its the 44

This site has pictures of what each axle looks like... Y'all might want to keep it as a bookmark... Never know when it might come in handy... /wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif
