I bought a honda 400ex a couple of months ago and I enjoying the heck out of it. I'm about your size and have not had any problems.
(except that a lighter person on the same quad is faster than me). The 4 stroke nature of the beast makes it a real pleasue to ride.
The power is available when every you need it without worrying about keeping it 'on the pipe' like a 2 stroke. Recently went to Pismo
and had a great time.
