I have an 88 F-150,4x4, 4sp manual trans, 6cl, fuel injected - all stock - other than heavier leaf springs in the rear. Where and with what should I start to make this an all around TRUCK? I use her for everything from skidding logs to hauling firewood, from going to town to sling'n mud up on the trails. - Or should I look for a different year of truck to start a project like this with? Thanks for the jank.

it doesn't get much more TRUCK than what you've already got!

you've got a good combo there, are you wanting to lift it or what? I'd slap some 33's on there and call it good

I have started there, i guess. I do have 31"?" on it now with 16" wagon wheel rims. I have a problem with the tires rubbing if I turn sharp though. My questions and hesitaion comes from the frount axle with the independent suspention. Is there a need to go to a straight axle?

Nah, not if it seems to drive ok on the road and doesn't eat tires in a hurry.... in stock form it's fine

You have some questions to answer. What kind of wheeling do you want to do and how far are you willing to go. These are great trucks in stock form. I'll be selling my Rancho lift soon btw.
