Where to find Manifold Vacumme?

I recently purchased a vacuume gauge, and hooked it up the the vacuume on the carb. I have read other posts and determined that I ned to hook it up to the manifold vacumme. Where is it? I have a '85 CJ-7 - Stock, Carter BBD.

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif You would want to tap into a fitting that was in the main body of the manifold, and not part of the carb. The fittings on the carb are not necessarily the vacuum UNDER the throttle plates, which is what you want to be reading....under the throttle plates....between the carb and the intake valve......anywhere along that route./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif
