Please take a look at this photo of my CJ-7 1980 V-8 304. There are 2 hose connections on the intake manifold which are pointed to by the "Here>>" text. Can anyone tell me what these should connect to?
When I got the CJ they were connected together with a single hose (I'm sure that's wrong). Bear in mind the charcoal canister has been removed so if any of the original connections should have been to the canister I'd need an alternate. Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Cheers
/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif Hi Jules...... Yep, we DO know where those go. I have been coached by some guys on this BBS who helped me re-establish the entire smog system on our '79 CJ7 304 V8. The one in front goes to the vacuum controlled valve inside the mouth of the big air cleaner so it sucks warm air off the exhaust manifold on warm-up. That same outlet feeds the Air Injection System diverter valve IF YOU HAVE the air system and air pump. It also feeds the temperature-controlled spark advance vacuum valve IF YOU HAVE ONE. The rear port basically is the same as the front, mine is hooked to my 2150 carb power valve. If you need a booklet on the 304, I can send you one, Jules for just my cost to copy and mail($6.73USD) There are several good smog system diagrams in the booklet./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

I never believe any statistics unless my moonguys /wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif made 'em up themselves.
