Replacing the rotors on a 86 D30 wide track going into a 68. One side had a bad spindle which I replaced along with the wheel bearings. The spindle on the other side looks ok only I am wondering since I have it apart and have to go to the trouble of cleaning and repacking the old wheel bearing should I just go and buy new bearings?

Also, what is the correct procedure for tightening the new bearings? I have the proper socket for the nuts. (The last guy that worked on the axle used a chisel to turn the nuts while destroying the washers.)
