Help me please!
I have a clicky sound coming from the front tire of my Jeep. After closer inspection the tire moves in and out slightly. Could this be the wheel bearing?
Thanks,
Amy

zukigirl, jack the front of the jeep off the ground. try to wiggle the wheel back and forth. it is most likely a wheel bearing. you might get lucky and have aluminum rims. they may have just loosened up. do not try to drive this vehicle until you get it fixed. if the tire wiggles back and forth and the studs/lugs are moving w/ the wheel you needs bearings. i think they are sealed front bearings on the jeeps. quite xpensive also. hope i helped.

build it, break it, then build it better.

In case of the tire moving in and out this is not probably the matter, but just for sure: check for an excess play in the U joint, this could be caused for example by some needle bearing being badly worn. Mine was shot and clicked. Might be good to try to move the front driveshaft by hand to check if it’s loose.
