fast? banshee hands down...with simple mod it will beat most machines out there. To get what the banshee will offer with one mod, you will have to do multiple mods on other machines...I have personally watched a 2000 banshee with T5 pipes blow the holy doors off a 400EX that was piped.

Depends on what kind of riding your doing.I have a Banshee and a TRX250r.The TRX is by far my favorite.A Banshee is faster in the dunes or wide open areas. The TRX250r or a 400EX will run circles around a banshee on a motocross track or in the woods.

Im not going to argue that a banshee is good for trails, because it really isnt. But the fact is that I ride mine 90% on trails. Except for the weak stock tires that come on banshee's, there is no way a 400EX walks circles around them in the woods. My riding buddy has a 2000 EX, and there is no where he can go that I cant. I keep up with him no problem in the tight trails, and he eats rock sandwiches and mud pies once we hit any sort of slightly open stretch.

I think two strokes take a little getting used to if you want to trail ride with them. They have little quirks, but the adrenaline rush you get on every open stretch more than makes up for them. IMO.

Theyre BOTH great machines. Its all personal preference, like chevy/ford. But honda's still are best!!

As far as trails...Banshee is maybe not the greatest I will admit that...however I would like to see someone on a 400EX walk cicles around a banshee...because everything I have seen so far....never happen. We ride tight trails that wind into 90 degree turns in some cases and others where it is slight corners and the 400EX in our group cant walk circles around me at all...and he is a hell of a rider....I am not saying the EX is a bad ride...just do not understand all the commosion about it...simply because that banshee is hands down the rocket....

400EX is a ride that is more all around....maybe but again any ride can be all around depending on the rider...
as for me....BANSHEE all the way baby!!!!!!

Yeah I have a bad opinion towards Banshee's.I bought a brand new '91. A year later I had to replace 4 gears, mainshaft was twisted and the frame was cracking everywhere. My '86TRX250r tranny is still original, execpt for 1 gear I replaced. Now the Raptor is coming out! Will it beat the banshee?I hope so. 4strokes CAN be fast, look at the street bikes.

There is no doubt 4 strokes CAN be fast. The raptor according to pre-production specs should hit the mid 80's stock. If this is in fact the case it will be faster. However what mods will work to increase that. To jump ur banshee a good chunk...one investment of pipes can do the trick...what is the compensating mod for a 4 stroke?

As far as the banshee...well there is a weak spot in the frame, this is common knowledge. But we have had in our group, 5, and we all love them. I beat the hell out of mine and have not had frame issues. My only issue is working out bugs on it. As far as the Honda machines, they are reknowned for bulletproof motors...so there is nothing I can say other then that.

As far as street bikes, look at the size of the motors you are talkin about. A 1200cc motor in a quad? That is scarey...

Bottom line it comes down to preference and I love my banshee. Once i get the bugs worked out...I believe it will be prime...

Well just my $.02
