Ok, im going to replace my ball joints this weekend, other than the puller for the lower a-arm, what tool should i use to seperate the upper and lower arms from the knuckle?
Are you talking about what tool to use to get the balljoints loose once the rivets are out? If so, you'll need a LARGE tie-rod fork, it might actually be called a ball-joint fork, I can't remember, but that's what you'll need.
Im talking about once i have the nuts off the ends of the tie rod and the ball joints, what do i use to seperate them from the knuckle, so that i can then remove the ball joints with the puller. I dont have any air tools.
Use a pickle fork and a large hammer to seperate the BJ's from the steering knuckle. After that you have to drill out the rivets on the upper ball joint and use some sort of press to press the old lower BJ's out and press the new ones in. Autozone had a large C-clamp looking BJ press that you can used for the lowers.
