I wouldn't pay more than $50 or $75 for a used "junk yard" carb. I personally wouldn't pay 1/2 that but know of some better deals than most folks. I went on a quest for 1 at the junk yard and had no luck. I kept finding 83 and newer fords which were computer controled carbed or FI

I'd concur w/ greyj; $35-50 for a used, but good condition one needing a rebuild. As well, I paid similiar prices for rebuild kit and new float.

MC2100's appear on eBay all the time, but I'd suggest you can get a better price from a U-Pull-It type junkyard.

Dang man, you boys must be rich. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for a Junkyard MC2100. Hell, they are so common, my local junkyards only wanted $20.

i guess it depends on availability...i don't have that many yards around here, and i'm not driving 2-3 hours (next closest city) for a part like that...as for the rebuild kit - stealership was the best deal at $30...NAPA was VERY proud of their ability to cut paper ($70)...a number of places in town here couldn't even get one, and that was with me providing the tag number...and don't even talk to me about jets...they come in the rebuild kit, and you get what you get and you like it...want to try rejetting, and you're SOL for a local supply around here...

I paid 20.00 a couple of weeks ago for mine at a u-pull-it, and I didn't even have to take it off. The guy showerd me his back room full of carbs on shelves and told me to find what I wanted.

yeah, 20$ That's what I paid for the one I pulled of a waggy. Although I paid over $20 dollars for the rebuild kit at advance too? Hmm, regional markup maybe? Counterboy scoring a few extra dollars?

'Round here pic a parts are charging $25-35 for a carb. Rebuild kits from $15-30 depending on where you get it from. Hence investment could run between $40-$60 PLUS the time to drive to the yard, find the carb (hopefully a 1.08), remove it, take it home, rebuild it, and hope it works. $99 buys you a factory rebuild at Autozone.

Just a thought
