I talked to a guy a while back and he told me that the stock hubs were not veary strong. I have a dana 30 wide track with warn lockouts, can I change to a stronger after market lockout or do I have to change to some other hub outer from some other axle.

The problem with the stock hubs is that they are externally connected to the driveshaft, through the lockout hub itself. The only way around this is to change the hub to an internally splined one, so that the lockout is simply connecting the driveshaft to the hub when in 4x4, instead of transfering the torque. Warn makes a kit for like $300 which swaps the hub, and you could source the parts from, say a f150. The only downside is that you're still stuck with the d30.
I replaced the bolts that hold the lockout to the hub with studs, hopefully that can hold things together for a while. My bolts were always coming loose.
Whew- that was a mouthful!!
